Walden has been a problem throughout the wek. Their server has been down, or perhaps they have simply taken down the selection. I have been hoping it would come up, it doesn't look like it.

Just forget it and go to Kafka's "Metamorphosis" and "The Storm."

The "Metamorphosis" has to be the strangest story I have ever read.Maybe someone can help me to understand the underlying message in the story, if there is one. It's sounds to me like crazy Sci-Fi , on the same line as Jeff Goldblum turning into a fly.
I guess the main character ended up turning into a beetle. Is that correct? And due to this, his family shunned him , and was revolted by his appearance.Does this story have something to with what could happen if a person was suddenly horribly disfigured? But what significance did the three boarders have? or the "nurse"(I guess that is what she was)that was still wanting to care for him? I have actually seen fathers that absolutely can not except a physically disfigured or mentally handicapped child( especially a son) as their own. It is sad, but it happens.Does that explain the fathers treatment of his son? What also might make me believe this, is the way the parents were in awe of their daughters beauty at the end of the story.
I really do not know. Any ideas? It is crazy story, but once I started reading it, I did not want to stop.
